Bridal Fashion Week
(Harrogate Convention Centre
| September 2023-24)

From the Yorkshire moors to the world of bridal fashion.

Before Bridal Hair by Bronte became what it is today, my career took me into some wonderfully creative corners of the fashion world. One of those was Bridal Fashion Week — an experience that allowed me to work behind the scenes creating hair for bridal designers, models and fashion shoots, surrounded by beautiful gowns, incredible creativity and an amazing team of people who share the same passion for bridal fashion.

For me, it was a chance to step outside the traditional wedding morning and explore bridal hair from a more editorial perspective. I loved seeing how a hairstyle could completely change the feeling of a gown — how texture, shape and movement could transform a look and become part of the story a designer was trying to tell.

It also taught me something I still carry into every wedding today:

Beautiful bridal hair isn’t about creating a hairstyle that simply looks good. It’s about creating a look that belongs to the woman wearing it.

  • Fashion gave me the freedom to experiment.

  • Weddings taught me the importance of individuality.

  • And Bridal Hair by Bronte is where those two worlds meet.

Behind the scenes:
There is something magical about being behind the scenes at a fashion event.

  • The early starts.

  • The beautiful gowns hanging backstage.

  • The buzz before the show begins.

  • Models moving between hair and make-up.

  • Designers making those final adjustments.

  • And that wonderful moment when everything comes together.

It’s fast-paced, creative and completely addictive. But amongst all the glamour, it’s the details that stay with me — the way a veil sits against soft waves, how a neckline changes the shape of an up-do, or how a little movement in the hair can make a whole look feel more romantic. Those details are just as important when I’m working with one bride on her wedding morning. Bringing fashion into your wedding day.

My experience in fashion has given me a love of beautiful styling, but I’ve never wanted my brides to look like they’re walking a catwalk. Instead, I take inspiration from the world of fashion and soften it, personalise it and make it completely wearable. Because your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot. It’s your day. You need to be able to laugh, hug, dance, move, cry and enjoy every moment — while still feeling incredible. That’s where my style lives:

  • Fashion-inspired, but never fashion-led.

  • Romantic, but never overdone.

  • Polished, but never too perfect.

  • And always, always you.
